Courses
  • Treatment Technologies for Contaminated Soil and Groundwater - Atlanta USA, 1995.
  • Risk Based Corrective Action: At the invite of Shell SA, Ritchie attended a three day training course run by Shell Thornton (UK) on the RBCA model (1996).
  • In 1996 Ritchie visited the Borden Research site at Alliston (Canada) and spent a day at Waterloo University. This was not part of a course but provided a good insight into emerging remediation technologies.
  • Ritchie has been a member of a working group comprising representatives from the chemical industry and the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry who are looking at appropriate environmental risk assessment methodologies for application at large industrial sites in South Africa.
